Wicca

The beginning of Wicca religion

Shamanism was defined as the first religion. There were before early civilizations, before human ancestors’ first steps to make the long journey to the present. Before this time, shamans were for curing those who owned power, men and women. Used magic and spoke with the spirits of the forest. Shamans were the first people who received knowledge. They created, discovered, cultivated and used knowledge.

Knowledge is power. They conquered this power through ecstasy – an altered state of consciousness in which they communed with the forces of the universe. The first shamans have reached that stage design means fasting, abstinence from consumption of liquids, auto induction of pain, ingestion of hallucinogenic substances, concentration, etc. Once mastered, these techniques allowed them to realize another world, intangible, ethereal. Conference with spirits and deities, plants and animals have opened new avenues of learning. Shamans often shared their knowledge of something from among whom they lived, but the rest used for personal purposes. Shamanic lore was not for the general public.

From these primitive beginnings arose all magic and religion, including Wicca. Despite the current controversy about the age of Wicca, it is spiritually descended from such rituals. With all that has been refined and changed in our world, Wicca still touches souls and causes ecstasy – awareness shifts – uniting people with the gods. Many of the techniques of Wicca are shamanic origin. Therefore, Wicca can be described as a shamanic religion.

In 1930, Wicca movement chooses as “high priestess” Dorothy Clutterbuck, the daughter of a British army captain, born inIndia. Then, in the fall of 1939, following an ancient ritual, she initiates it in esoteric secrets Gerald Gardner; it will prove to be the most fervent promoter of Wicca and is recognized as “the father of Wicca”.

Wicca rituals

Through these spiritual tools, Wicca achieved a state of ritual consciousness similar to those attained by the most brutal shamanic practices. Wicca teaches that nature includes a broad spectrum of mental and spiritual states, which most of people do not know. Goddess and God are both within ourselves and manifest in all nature. Wicca helps those who practice it to understand the universe and our place in it.

General considerations about Wicca

At present, Wicca is a religion with many variations, and like many other religions, recognizes the duality of divinity. So worship God, and Goddess. They are equal, loving, and not distant or are in “heaven”; they are ubiquitous throughout the universe.

Wicca teaches that the physical world is one of many realities. The only difference between the physical and the spiritual is that the former is denser.

The Wiccan ideal of morality is simple: do what you want, as long as you do not hurt anyone. The rule also contains another condition described: don’t do anything to hurt you. Therefore, if you, as a practitioner of Wicca, abusing your body, deny them life needs, or hurt you in any way, violate this principle. This is more than survival. It guarantees the same time, you’ll be in good condition to assume the tasks of conservation and improvement of the human world, Wicca is in the care and love for our planet, holding important roles.

Wicca is a religion that uses magic. This is a unique and attractive feature of it. Magic is put in motion, natural way (although it is poorly understood) power to effect change that is needed. In Wicca practice, magic is used as a tool for consecration ritual spaces and improve ourselves and our world. Wicca is a religion that embraces magic.

Another fundamental aspect, the magic is not a way to force your nature to please. This is a completely erroneous idea, fueled by the belief that, in some way, magic is supernatural, as if everything that exists can be outside the nature. The magic it is a harmonious movement of energies to create needed change.

Most practitioners of Wicca do not believe in predestination. Although honor and revere the Goddess and God, they know that humans are free souls who have full control and responsibility for their lives. From the first moment, a practitioner of Wicca assumes full responsibility for everything he/she did (in this life and in the past) and decides that further action will be in accordance with the highest ideals and goals, the magic will blossom and life will be a joy.

Perhaps this is the Wicca essence- a joyous union with Nature. Earth is the manifestation of divine energy. Wicca Temples are the enameled flower meadows, forests, beaches and deserts. In addition, all nature sings incessantly, revealing secrets.
